In 2005, we commenced construction of the Dürnbach-Schachendorf bypass on the B
63 federal road (Steinamangerer Strasse) with a length of 8,295 kilometers and total
carriageway width of 8.50 meters. We are realizing this construction phase for the
Burgenland state government within the framework of a joint venture. The route is
divided into two cutting zones and two embankment zones in alternating sequence,
a total of 4.6 kilometers being cut and 3.7 kilometers filled for embankment.
Roads and farm tracks cross the route on four new road bridges. On both sides of
the route we are building a total of approx. 12.4 kilometers of new paths. In addition,
we are erecting a steel bridge over the new bypass for the Südburgenländische Regionalbahn
railway line.
As well as filling a noise and view protection embankment over a length of 1.5 kilometers
and erecting game fences, we are constructing three floodwater retention basins
to secure the new route against flooding.
